This week has been relentless…anyone else?

Medical tests, coming out of our 5th lockdown, a weariness that is hard to put words to.

Meh! or Blah! seems to just about cover it.

Last night was the final straw, as we took our youngest to emergency – after something went POP in the appendix area. (thankfully, that wasn’t the case!) I’d had a covid test earlier that day, so wasn’t allowed at the hospital until it came back clear. Sitting in the carpark feeling powerless and overwhelmed at the events of the past fortnight. My mind raced.

The following morning, standing in the shower (my best thinking place.lol) I asked God, “What is going on with all the stuff that is happening?” It’s been years since we’ve had a barrage, one after the other. Covid hasn’t helped, that’s for certain.

“Roll with the punches!” I sensed Him reply.

The definition of – roll with the punches:

The ability to move one’s body away from an opponent’s blows so as to lessen the impact.

Adapt oneself to adverse conditions.

This sounded GREAT to me!

YES! to being so agile that whatever comes at me I can move away from the direct HIT.

To move so that any opponent’s blows impacts are lessened.

YES to being able to adapt myself to adverse conditions!!!

Yes to all of these and so many more!!! I noticed that with punching bags, there is a LOT of weight behind them. They swing, they move, they aren’t too phased by the punches.

As the morning continued on, I began pondering how this was a defensive position – surely this can’t be how we are to remain Lord?

Another line came in loud and clear – and it thrilled me to bits!

“The tides are turning!”

“Things begin to change (in favor of someone or something).

things change, especially for the better.”

Yes, it’s been full on.

Yes, it’s stretched us.

Yes, it’s pushed us out of our comfort zones in ALL ways.

BUT… and it’s a huge BUT…

It has NOT crushed us.

It has NOT overcome us. There IS hope!

Hope is here!

There is coming a time where those very things where we get our turn to throw some punches!!!! Bring it ON!!!

It reminded me of that verse from 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

I’m soooooo excited that the TIDES ARE TURNING!!!

So for those who have been under pressure. Had attacks from many sides. Felt weary from the battle.

Hang in there!!!!
