It’s Good Friday today here in Melbourne.
And I got to thinking, what makes Good Friday….well…good?
I mean, Jesus went through unimaginable agony and pain.
He didn’t do a thing wrong, and here he was, put on a cross… mocked,

his body wrecked. Rejected by all, alone, and in the pit of life.

How is this possibly GOOD???

As I pondered, the answer came in loud and clear.
It restored something to us – something that would change humankind for the good, forever…..

Intimacy with the Father! The ability to talk to Him for ourselves..not through priests or religious folk

but just He and I. And the ability to hear Him, to be loved by Him – and endeavor to respond to that love.

Jesus thought you and I were worth it.
The clincher for me, is that I don’t always feel Worth it…I know my heart and

the mucked up things I’ve done, thought, and said… and yet, He knows my heart better than I.
He is the ultimate truth teller because He is truth-and He says,

“You are worth the cost!!!”

So today…good Friday…I feel so grateful.

Grateful that Jesus would go through all He did so that I could talk to and connect with God once again.
No longer heavy, burdened by the stuff I’ve done which put walls between us. He took those walls down, through the cross.

Jesus did it for love. He LOVED BIG!!!!

He did it to show His love for me, and His love for you.

And He did it knowing that we have free will, that we could (even after going through the cross)

reject that love, reject that offer of reconnection with God.

I get to choose, will I reject or accept that loving hand today.

That very idea blows my mind today…
