God gave a picture.
It was a picture of someone who was a tank. A physical tank and that tank was in the middle of a great desert. The heat intense. The sense of dryness, palpable. My tongue felt dry just being in this place.
The tap on the outside of the tank was dripping.
Each drop getting sapped up by the heat of the sand – making little to no difference at all to the ground beneath.
There was a feeling of futility and fatigue.
Then the inside of the tank was seen.
Just a few millimetres of water was left in the large tank. It wouldn’t be long, before the dripping tap would stop altogether.
Then something miraculous happened.
A great tap seemed to roll into the scene.
It was a silver old fashioned tap.
The next thing that happened was what you see above. The water began to gush out.
It didn’t trickle or drip….it GUSHED….and didn’t stop!
The tank seemed to almost take a breath, like it was just enjoying the feeling of the water within. The coolness of it’s refreshing liquid. The feeling of being full! Knowing that there was some to spare. It hadn’t felt that in a looooong time.
I saw the tap that was attached to the bottom of the tank, was now running at full speed…..it couldn’t keep up.
The water began to flow over the top of the tank.
The tank seemed to laugh at this….it was enjoyable to relish this overflow.
It poured over each of the corrugated sides and landed heavily upon the sand below.
And it poured.
And it poured
And it poured.
As the water continued to pour, the sand began to change before my eyes.
I saw the colour green. It went from sandy yellow to a lush green, as if moss had begun to cover the great expanse.
From the green, small flowers and grasses sprung up.
And the tap continued to pour.
Before too long, the sandy wilderness had become a lush garden of tropical plants and flowers.
Large trees were there…where there was once grains of heated sand.
The trees were planted beside a rippling brook and all that was felt was peace in this place.
What a delight to behold! What a gift to live there!
The words that seemed to sing out from this place were:
“See, what I am doing.
I am making ways where there were none.
The desert places are no longer.
Out of my overflow, the dry and arid places become new!
I am bringing life to desert places and transforming them into lush gardens.
Things that seemed impossible – are now possible in Me!
Do you perceive it?”
King James Bible
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert
New Living Translation
I will open up rivers for them on the high plateaus. I will give them fountains of water in the valleys. I will fill the desert with pools of water. Rivers fed by springs will flow across the parched ground.
If you feel touched by this vision then it is for you! God wants to breathe fresh life into desert places. Begin to thank Him for what He is doing in you and then walk towards the opportunities He shows you. I’m so incredibly excited for our lives in this season. Xxxxx
